HARP On It! – this Saturday

Due to scheduling conflicts, Johnny Snidarich will not be able to perform at the HARP picnic. However, he did refer ‘Polka Bob & Company’ who will be providing the Polka music and beat for this year’s festivities.

Come and enjoy a family fun outing!

Planning Meeting at Masinter Building on Grant Ave next to Deluxe Cafe

The Eveleth Heritage Committee met at the Masinter building today to continue the development of the HARP Days event.

Chuck Morello, Ester Salmi, Loretta Nemanick, Marilyn Grierson, Mark McCarty, Les Crawford, Ken Larson were in attendance. Several All-Slav Committee members from Gilbert were contacted by phone: Rose Lindval, Darlene Kaska and Mayme Coombe.

Ken is determining the role the Eveleth Lions will have in the event, in particular whether the Lions will be involved in food this year. He promised to pull the float in the Gilbert and Eveleth parades this weekend with a tow vehicle from Lundgren’s.

The banner for the float is pictured here, along with the Committee’s downtown project identifying businesses from the past for each of the addresses on Grant Avenue.

This display will be open for public review Friday and Saturday of this weekend. The Committee will be present items for sale for their scholarship fund.

Visitors are asked to identify the people in various photos on display, and to help with the downtown project.
